The debut album Boots Met My Face from Scottish indie folk outfit Admiral Fallow was warmly received when it initially surfaced, gaining an international release that ensured the band and its music travelled far and wide. Luke G Joyce’s Isle of Mull boatwreck photography featured heavily across the album campaign, which included promotional material for a US tour, 12-inch vinyl for Record Store Day and a special individually-numbered poster for a Celtic Connections headline show in Glasgow.
The follow-up Tree Bursts in Snow was released in Europe and North America in spring 2012 to further acclaim from music fans and critics. The album artwork and promotional campaign featured striking imagery from the Syringe series of paintings by UK artist Kezia Ruth Merrick; work that had caught the eye of frontman Louis Abbott. The paintings featured heavily on packaging, album release posters and promotional material for live dates and radio. Fans who ordered advance copies of the album were also rewarded with an additional limited edition Tree Bursts in Snow poster, featuring Abbott’s handwritten lyrics for every song.
